Let the Classes Begin!!

After talking with Donna today, I think we have our fall schedule in place. She was adjusting to being back in school but ready to start scrappin'.
Here is what I have so far:
1st and 3rd Wednesdays
Pam
Helen
Edith

2nd and 4th Wednesdays
Pam
Julie
Donna

If no one else wants to sign up for a regular class time then we will have some openings for Drop-In students most classes.

Judy will be coming on the 1st and the 8th. Then she starts Bible study so there will be openings in both groups for Drop-Ins.This leaves an opening for the 15th and 22nd.
Also the 29th is an extra class. Let me know if you wish to attend any of these classes.

I will try to always post openings on Monday. If you are going to miss class or want to switch, please contact me as soon as possible.

Found these cute mini books on my favorite site, Maya Road. We could make some of these!!

Again, If you receive this email you are welcome to come to class.
Just let me know when you'd like to come!!

School has begun! Time to hit the books,Scrapbooks, that is!! Important Info Below!!

We had a good class last night. Helen, Pam and Judy came. Helen worked on pages from her trip to Colorado. The photos were beautiful and the pages are great. We threw the one above right, together in about 5 minutes. Helen had  pulled out the photos and I began throwing some leftover pieces from one of my projects over to her. This is what she did!!

The mini-book below is Pam's project. She has worked on it for several classes this summer and finally got it finished last night. It is a gift for an Aunt she made from visiting the farmer's market. She used cute papers and embellishments. It really was a cute project!!

Pam has the patience do very detailed work. Notice the cute flowers and apple brads. She had to cut the backs off the brads because this was a chipboard book. If anyone wants to make one this is a great project for vacation mini books!!

We also discussed the fall class schedule and changes to class policy. This fall classes will meet most Wednesdays. Students may sign up to attend 4 classes per month or 2 classes per month. There will also be Drop-In students, those who are not on a regular schedule but wish to come when there is an opening. The change in policy is that the monthly class fee is due the first class of the month. If you have a conflict on your regular class night and wish to come another night you can do this if you let me know and there is an opening. If you wish to attend more than the number of classes you signed up for you can attend another and
 pay the Drop-In fee.

Two classes per month fee $16
Four classes per month fee $32
Drop-In fee $12
Supplies used fee will be paid each week.

So far I have:

Pam: ALL Wednesdays (and any other!)
Helen 1st and 3rd Wednesdays
Edith: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays
Julie: 2nd and 4th Wednesdays

Please let me know if you want to be on the schedule. I have openings on either days. Drop-In  students may notify me if they wish to come to a class. I plan to send out a notice by Monday of each week to let you know  if there are openings. I also plan to do some all day scraps on Fridays like we did last year. Those were a big success!! We will discuss dates for those when we meet in September.
We will meet this coming Wednesday, the 25th. Come if you can!!

I have missed scrappin' and missed my scrappin' friends !!

Since school has begun, I guess summer is officially over. Someone please tell that to the weather man!! It has been a hot summer but a great one for me. Lots a beaches, lots of family visiting, lots of eating and traveling. Now it is time to scrap those memories!!

Of course through my travels, I visited every scrapbook store within a 50 mile radius of where we were staying. My patient chauffeur, Bob, used his GPS to get me there and more times than not the Scrapbook store was closed, boo! This was disappointing but we usually found the large chain store close by which had put them out of business....Hobby Lobby, Michael's, JoAnn's and A C Moore.

These are great stores, but just not quite as exciting as the Local Scrapbook (LSS). I have to say the best one I found and the best one ever was the Whim-so-Doodle store in St. Pete, just two blocks from Betsy's apartment!!  I find myself thinking of sending her there to buy me something!! She says there's also a good one close to her work. No, I have not sent her there!!

Check out their site!! Awesome!

We will have class this Wednesday, August 18th at 6:00. We will be discussing our new Fall class schedule and changes in class policy. I hope to see you here. If not, we will also meet on Wed the 25th. So try to come to one of these classes if you are interested in attending classes on a regular basis in the Fall (beginning September). We may have some spots available, so if you know someone who might be interested in joining us and would fit into our crazy group, bring them along. Hope to see you Wednesday !! If you can't attend, please call and I'll tell you all about our Fall plans and get you signed up for a class!!
