Amazing what a little paint will do!

The photo above is one bedroom. I call it the Cat room. The kitties love it because they can lie in the window and bask in the sun. It is a warm and sunny room. I was so tired of this brass bed. Didn't change everything but made some improvements. Still haven't gotten Bob to relocate his desk area. Intentionally left out of photo!

I decided this would be a great room to display a lot of my mom's paintings. I can rotate them. It has a back-to-nature look. You will see the nightstand more clearly in another photo. Photo was before I got new bedding and pillows.

This was Betsy's lime green room. That green had to go!

I replaced the twin bed with a queen. Walls are Sherwin Williams. Like the color, but not the paint. Took two coats and some touch-up. Painted the chest. The round table I left natural. I just love it. Haven't hung anything on the walls yet. Looking for just the right thing. Hope to find a headboard to paint.

This was just a dark pine stained night stand. From our set we got when we married. I saw the paint idea at Sherwin Williams and used their paint!! I think it so awesome!

This was Betsy's desk. I repainted it with Annie Sloan Chalk paint in Old White. The inside I used the ASCP in color Cricket (mixed from Old White and Provence) The chair and small chest are Provence. I used dark wax on the chair but left the chest with clear wax.

The lamps I found in my mom's attic. A little paint, a little re-wiring and new shades from
Lowe's and they are just so cute!

The mirror also came from my mom's. Just painted and waxed it. LOVE IT!

October Afternoon Scrap

Helen and Evelyn scrapped the Jackson Prep homecoming! These really came out cute! All the projects we did to prepare paid off! They did a great job.

Judy was here but I forgot to take a picture of the great pages she did! Pam and Edith were here on Wednesday night. Made some cute cards!

I am working on the November schedule. So far we have class every Wednesday except Thanksgiving week. We have another Afternoon Scrap scheduled for Nov. 17th at 1:00. I am also working on a scheduled All Day Crop...a time for everyone to scrap, including Scrappy!! It will take some prep time, sort of like we do for the retreat...make up page kits ahead of time. This will be a fun time!

See what we did!!

Here are some of the projects we have completed lately. Helen scrapbooked our 2011 Retreat and other trips. She made tons of pages, as usual. She is a speed scrapper!
Going to Gigi's!! Fun place!!

Pam just took a trip down to GS and visited Gigi's. She was introduced to Tattered Angels Glitter sprays. Of course she bought lots of colors. The card below was made using the spray and a Glimmer screen. Really cute and lots of fun! I love messy stuff! Thanks, Pam for sharing. We now have several colors since I already had some! Fun!

This was a project I helped Evelyn make for her grandson. She was going to visit him the following Tuesday in Texas, so we did a speedy project. It really came out cute. Just covered
6 x 6 cardboard(aka Chipboard) with papers, stickers and tags. Really a cute project and a great gift for her grandson to remember a family fishing trip to Alaska.

Sweet!
Judy came over last Thursday afternoon to make a tri-fold poster to celebrate Ronald Reagan's 100th birthday. The photos were from a calendar she had and we typed up lots of quotes and added those. She found some cute stars and embellishments at HL.  We had fun!! Great job!! If anyone else ever needs something like this, just let me know.
It was fun to do and easy-peasy!

We are ready for September scrappin'. I have great news, Julie and Donna will be returning to class this month!! Yeah! I am hoping to do a Thursday afternoon scrap at least once  a month. If you are interested or know anyone who might be let me know. We are going to work it around Pam's schedule so it will not always be the same week. How we spent our summer vacation.....scrappin' in July!

Helen scrapped all the Dragon Boat pictures. This was a really fun event. They all came out great. She had her photos printed 5 x 7 so we couldn't get many on a page.

She used great papers and had great Chinese and Canada embellishments!

Pam is working on a great project! It is a frame to decorate which will holds 6-4x6 photos. Of course hers is Ole Miss themed for Bill's apartment. It is going to be cute and everyone is going to want to make one. Think of all the possibilities.......wedding, vacation, birthday, family, school memories, etc.

These frames are at Hobby Lobby and they come in black or cream. They are only $9.99 and you can always use your coupon!! Such a deal !So we will plan to make some of these soon. Great gifts.

Pam made this cute page of her dad's first boating license.
I cut the fish and things with the Cricut.

As soon as I open up the door to the scraproom the kitties sit in Pam's spot to wait for her,
I wonder who brings them treats?

Pam's wedding pages. Check out Pam in these pictures! These came out great! Used brown mats and green glitter background papers. Also, love the Prima flower embellies.

We'll be doing more great scrappin' in August. We will also discuss our Fall schedule. As you know, I will be retiring ...... so I plan to have more classes and scrapping events.
 It's going to be GREAT!!

Making Paper Bag Books

Pam and I had a great time with our paper bag project and the 40 new scrappers! I am posting more information on how to do it and samples of ones I've made. They are just so cute and so much fun to do!

This was the version we did using the regular size lunch bags that come in a package of 50. Pretty cheap! Anyway we used two bags. You can use more. To see how to make the basic bag click HERE. I usually sew mine together. I have punched holes and tied ribbon before, but that method takes space from your pages, so I prefer the sewn method. If I sew the bags together, I do not punch as they show on the how-to page.

The bag below is called a "Waterfall bag book." It is just two bags placed on top of each other but one pushed back to leave just over an inch. Then fold so that you have the waterfall layers in front. Sew on fold.

The one below is made with the larger bags. It's finished size is about 6 x 6. I really like this size. It would be better if I had sewn in the middle rather than punching. That way the pages lie flat. Remember you can fill the pockets with tags and lots of photos and journaling!

Happy paper bag book making! It is fun and limitless!!
