St. Pete and the Graduate!!

 Our trip to visit Betsy and Josh to 
attend her graduation was just wonderful!
On Sunday we visited the Salvadore Dali Museum.It was a extensive collection of over 90 of his works. I know you remember from Art 101 that he was the surrealist who painted the melted clocks and all sorts of strange looking things! If you want to know more about him visit here at Wikipedia.

 We couldn't take photos inside but they had an area outside with several Dali-like things! This is Josh with the famous handlebar mustache.

We enjoyed visiting with Bets, Josh and all their pets.   Josh's parents, Bobby and June have moved down to the area and it was great to see them and their new home. We ate some delicious fish we caught on our wedding fishing trip last June. 

The best, and much anticipated part of our trip was Betsy's graduation.It was held at Tropicana Field, the home of the Tampa Rays baseball team.

 I loved having the big screen(although I couldn't get a clear picture of it)

Betsy earned her ESE Certification, Florida Special Education Certification.  We are very proud of her and just know she will be a wonderful teacher and a blessing to the children she teaches!

Recent Scrappy Pages

I scrapbooked Betsy's softball years. I was fortunate to have these pictures made by a photographer at one of her first games!  The other pages I did very simple layouts with just the large group photo and a title. I did not realize she had played ball for so many years until I dug out all those group photos. I know you have them too. Get going and scrap them!!

The titles were some clear letters. I painted the edges with white paint and sewed

 them on the pages.

Cat People

I love just love these photos of my Aunt Carrie and Uncle Bob. Their Siamese cat was so special to them. The cat would never come out when we visited, so it was a surprise to find these pictures. I can now understand how you can become "Cat People."

These photos were made in 1958. It seems all the photos I find from this time period have this "Gold look". Have you noticed this, also?

I used lots of texture on this page. Grungeboard letters with tattered Angels spray for the title and frame around the letters.  I couldn't find a metal cat's paw so I used these cute metal flowers by Maya Road. I also love the Vintage look of these letter charms! I have more of these if you just choose the right letters. I only had one set!

Silent Santa Cookies

Betsy and I with some help from Charlie baked cookies and goodies yesterday. It was quite an undertaking. Our Santas have no mouths and our snowmen have no arms, but we had fun and learned a lot about cake and cookie decorating. Made us appreciate the Ace of Cakes!!

P.S. Heading to Alabama to visit my mom. She has an infection in her leg now and they are treating it with antibiotics. She has to go to the Doctor every week now and have the cast removed and put back on!! She was in good spirits today when I talked with her. She told one of the nurses that she likes eggnog on Christmas eve and asked if they served it. She said no but she would get her some. Mom also told her she liked her's spiked so the nurse is sneaking in a miniature bottle and eggnog!! I hope she doesn't get kicked out!!

Meet the new Grandpup!! Hazel !!

 Josh gave Betsy an early birthday present, a Pomeranian pup!! She is so cute!! She looks like a baby bear cub!    

Daisies and Brownies

I worked on this last night. I did not have many picture of Betsy's scouting. I know there is some video (would love to get some stills from those, if possible) I cut the titles from thin chipboard then papers. I tried to use the pens to outline them, but had difficulty. You have to draw with the pens, then put the blade back in and cut. I got an error and it didn't work. Got to get better with this technique because I love it. I got this stamp for journaling on my trip. Cute!
