I got out the camera when Bob and I were cooking out yesterday and discovered my hydrangea I got last year for Mother's day was blooming. Wow, was it pretty. Also a little bird came to the feeder, but I had not put any food out, poor birdy.

Tinkering Ink Layouts
gallery. They are wonderful pages and show father, sons, brothers. I also have this Haberdasher paper pack. If you look around the site you will see lots of other really awesome things. I have most of the paper sets shown there. We could do some great pages with this. I saw they had this line at the new Michael's, too. Please get it from me first, then if we need some other papers, it's good to know they have it too.

Scrapbooking with Layouts
It's time I taught you something!! Tuesday Lacey mentioned that she had used a plastic template which helps with the size of pictures and layout of your pages. Well, I have tons of these layouts and you can also get them free online. Many scrapbooking magazines have these and show how to use them. Here is an example: Here from Creating Keepsakes Magazine. There is another site Page Maps Below is an example of a page map from their site. Notice it shows patterned paper and an embellishment placement. Notice in the layout below that items were placed according to the sketch. These really help to make great pages.
Notice the template used hearts and frilly-look paper but the finished page is for a boy and they used more boyish looking things. The layout is just a guide. The problem I see with using them is that we try to use too many pictures, or we have only a few photos. Also ours aren't the correct size called for in the layout. Anyway, try copying some and use them. It is a learning process to get used to using them. We'll try it in class sometime, maybe with a special class day just to try using the. Let me know if you want to learn more. Check out the sites.

Scrap Therapy Session Today
Monday, May 25, 2009
I checked it out!!
Well, I made it down to Michaels today! It was great. The entire middle of the store is scrapbooking stuff. They have it very well organized and tons of it.
There were several aisles of individual sheets of paper. These included Basic Gray and lots of my favorite brands. They also had large complete packs of Basic Gray.
The themes at the top show how it is organized. This is really good, includes papers, stickers albums and everything to fit that particular theme.Great!!
I wandered around looking for just he right thing when it started to pour!! So I was forced (ha!) to wander around. So I checked out the rest of the store. Finally was able to check out and make a dash for it!! I think we will enjoy our new store and it will surely give HL lots of competition!!

Summer Schedule is Posted on My Other Site
We will work on the summer schedule next class. I will make a calendar for everyone to sign up for class. I will not keep the same classes but just have a sign-up for each class. That way we can work around vacations, etc. So bring your calendars to the next class and we will have a sign up time. Also we will have some all day crops, at least two days during the summer.
The next class is tommorow night, Scrappin' Divas. Also Scrap Therapy on the 26th and Croppin' with Class on the 27th.There are openings in both of these classes.
I think my subscription thingy is working. I just had to activate it on my email. Check your email for something from Feedblitz and ACTIVATE it. Please let me know if you got it. Or post a comment of the blog. I really do like this and it is so full of stuff!!
The other website has the complete summer schedule posted with name of who is signed up for what. Check it out!

Scrap Therapy Session
We had a great session today. Pam brought her sister, Gay from Birmingham to join us. She made several cute projects. Lacey made this lovely Mothers Day layout. She got to use flowers and girly stuff!! Cute!!
Pam did a great project. She had been planning this for quite some time. It is an "Off the Page" project. She bought a plate at Hobby Lobby and decorated it for a graduation gift for a friend's son. It is really special. She did a great job!! great idea Pam!!
Judy is finishing up her daughter's book . Today was a Family Trip page and a cousins page. Everytime she left the room for a phone call Scrappy jumped in and decorated her pages!

Scrappin' Divas Class- May 5th
This page was a letter her son had received when he played football. We just added a gold mat behind the letter, added some patterned paper and a few of the many footballs Pam had in her stash!! Neat, also the letter is a tear jerker!
On this one she just needed a title. The papers were fine. We used some cutouts and punches behind the metal letters and added chipboard words. Lovely.
This was a tribute she did to her mother-in-law on her death. I thought it was wonderful. She used the red because it was her favorite color. The only thing I might add would be a small black and white photo of her mother-in-law.I enjoyed doing the redos. Next time I would take some before and after
photos so you can see what we did.
